SERIOUS was founded in 2005 as a creative consultancy to engage with leading brands and deliver value through breakthrough thinking and creative communications.
Having worked with some of London’s biggest marketing and advertising agencies, the founders wanted to be able to give their clients a truly personal service and today the agency gets its energy from the thrill of doing a great job for all our clients.

Could you say a big thank you to your digital and account teams, who have developed our website from scratch over the last 6 months. Great to see it live and everyone loves how user friendly it is, the whole search function and simple navigation. We really weren’t sure how this would evolve from a blank piece of paper. I liked the way your digital team approached the brief by taking our requirements and creating a specification of work and site plan that really helped provide us with the vision of the website. Glad to see the Content Management System up and working, it’s very well managed and nice to see how the system has been adapted to provide tailored information, CGIs, maps and technical details of our property developments. Good to see that I can control and change my content and imagery instantly, as I know this will be a major benefit when selling our properties.
Thanks for your help and support in making the Learning and Skills exhibition a great success over the last two days. Also, a huge amount of pre-organisation went into this event, so thanks to all those who helped in coordinating the event, creating the new Henley stand and interim brochure.
Following our initial brief to produce an analytical and data driven creative for a new programme launch, SERIOUS designed an exciting and engaging graphic for our new MSc in Business Analytics. We received a fantastic array of concepts in the first phase, it was difficult to choose which one to go with! With guidance and support from the design team at SERIOUS we created a graphic solution that can easily be transferred from online to print. Despite an extremely limited time frame, SERIOUS provided us with a professional service, excellent account management and above all a campaign that stands out from our competitors. We are delighted with the initial response to the creative and the new programme in general.

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say that we were very impressed with the infographic you created for UKCSI. It’s really hard to get things signed off/pushed through here at The Institute – so the fact that you came up with an infographic design/look and feel that was signed off straight away really is impressive. One of my colleagues once described Serious as “the best agency I’ve ever worked with” which speaks volumes. Why they are especially good is that they take time to get to know your brand. I consider them an extension of our marketing team and am always impressed by their attitude. They listen and work with us to deliver the end result. It’s not all glamour this entertainment business. Yes there are the parties, the premieres, the power-breakfasts, elevenses, lunches, high teas and dinners…… Oh and those naughty late night power-snacks, with a glass of milk. And yes, there is a fair bit of air-kissing and hob-nobbing with celebs (Hi Jeremy! How are you Sir David, Looking good Ricky, Catch you later Davina etc… But there’s also a lot of serious hard work required to maintain our top spot as Britain’s biggest and brightest DVD publisher. And because this is, on balance, a serious business, I decided to approach a serious outfit, fittingly known as, er…..SERIOUS, to come up with the creative goods for us. Their first job was to redesign our Quarter Four Review – a showcase of our new and popular titles. The agency came back with four very different design concepts – great stuff, challenging yet bang on brief. It’s gone on from there. The marketing materials they’ve created for us since have gone down a storm with our partners at the BBC, the indie production houses and also the talent we work with. They say you can’t keep all of the people happy all of the time but SERIOUS have come close to doing just that. If I ever wore a hat I’d take it off to them.
The “ideas people” is an accurate positioning for Serious. They tackle each brief with a fresh approach, always hunting for an innovative solution that will drive big results. Born from global agencies they know what clients look for and look out for. Having access to the partners is something that we find invaluable, knowing that you have the people that own the business, adding value to your brief.
We have found SERIOUS a real gem of an agency to work with and are the first agency in 8 years to be retained and added to our agency portfolio. Their ideas, talent and experience in retail and promotions have helped us increase our sales figures over and above our own targets. My best advice to anyone wanting to work with them is to try them out – you should get a very refreshing and rewarding experience working with them.
